Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer at the Warriors Choice Foundation!

 

We truly appreciate you for wanting to donate some of your valuable free time to help our foundation and animals.

 

Our volunteer team plays an important role in helping us fulfill our vision of creating a community where we can help Combat Veterans receive proper care, through our hosted events as well as through our service dog program. Each task performed by volunteers makes a significant contribution to the health and welfare of combat veterans. By offering your time and talent, you improve the quality of life for our combat veterans.

REQUIREMENTS:

We have volunteer opportunities available for various ranges of availability. Once your application has been received, we will schedule a meeting to explore the areas that you are best suited for.

  • We need Volunteers who can commit to a scheduled shift.*

  • We ask Volunteers to be with us for a minimum of 3-months to help with our big fundraising events - this excludes court mandated volunteers.* 

  • We do not accept violent offenders, sexual offenders, or animal abusers.*

  • To volunteer independently on site, you must be at least 16 years old. The minimum age to volunteer is 13-15 with a parent/adult but there are limited volunteer opportunities available. Email us to inquire about this.*

Policies & Non-Disclosures

Volunteer Dismissal Policy:

Warriors Choice Foundation reserves the right to remove volunteers who engage in any conduct that it determines, in its sole discretion, puts member safety or well-being in jeopardy, and/or negatively impacts Warriors Choice Foundation financial or organizational needs. Its decisions shall generally be guided by this policy and reflect the best interests of the institution as a whole.

Grounds for removal include, but are not limited to one or more of the following categories:

• Violation of the Warriors Choice Foundation policies and/or procedures.

• Misuse or misappropriation of the Warriors Choice Foundation brand.

• Negative conduct directed at other volunteers or staff.

• Failure to complete the duties assigned to the role held.

Volunteers are expected to follow rules of conduct that will protect the interest and safety of everyone at Warriors Choice Foundation and the institution itself. The following include but are not limited to, inappropriate conduct which leads to the right of dismissal:

 

• Theft or inappropriate removal or possession of the Warriors Choice Foundation property.

• Altering Warriors Choice Foundation reports or records.

• Volunteering under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs and/or illegal or unauthorized possession, distribution, sale, transfer, or use of alcohol or illegal drugs in the volunteer environment.

• Creating a disturbance on the Warriors Choice Foundation premises, at sponsored activities or in areas which could jeopardize the business.

• Improper use of the Warriors Choice Foundation property or property owned by any other individual or organization.

• Lack of cooperation, or other disrespectful conduct.

• Inappropriate use of telephones, computer equipment or systems, mail system, e-mail system, or other Warriors Choice Foundation equipment.

• Unauthorized disclosure of Warriors Choice Foundation proprietary or confidential information.

• Unsatisfactory performance or conduct

 

All case records and actions regarding removals are available only to those with a legitimate need to know.

Any violation of the above will result in relinquishment of your volunteer status valid for one year. After one year you have the right to reapply.

Confidentiality Policy:

Respecting the privacy of our Clients, Donors, Members, Staff, Volunteers and Board members of the Warriors Choice Foundation itself is a basic value of the Warriors Choice Foundation. Personal and financial information is confidential and should not be disclosed or discussed with anyone without permission or authorization from Anthony Longo, President. Care should also be taken to ensure that unauthorized individuals do not overhear any discussion or confidential information and that documents containing confidential information are not in the open or inadvertently shared.

 

Employees, Volunteers and Board Members of the Warriors Choice Foundation may be exposed to information which is confidential and/or privileged in nature. It is the policy of the Warriors Choice Foundation that such information must be kept confidential both during and after employment or volunteer services. Staff and Volunteers, including Board Members are expected to return materials containing privileged or confidential information at the same time of separation from employment or expiration of service.

 

Unauthorized disclosure of confidential or privileged information is a serious violation of this policy and will subject the person(s) who made the unauthorized disclosure to appropriate discipline, including removal/dismissal.

 

EACH PARTY TO THIS AGREEMENT REPRESENTS AND WARRANTS TO EACH OTHER PARTY THAT SUCH PARTY HAS READ AND FULLY UNDERSTANDS THE TERMS AND PROVISIONS HEREOF, HAS HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO REVIEW THIS AGREEMENT WITH LEGAL COUNSEL (IF SOUGHT), AND HAS EXECUTED THIS AGREEMENT BASED UPON SUCH PARTY’S OWN JUDGEMENT AND ADVICE OF LEGAL COUNSEL (IF SOUGHT).

 

By applying, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of the Confidentiality Policy.

Release and Waiver of Liability

THE UNDERSIGNED for himself/herself, or as Parent and/or Legal Guardian on behalf of any minor names, agrees as follows: 

THE UNDERSIGNED HEARBY ASSUMES FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR AND RISK OF BODILY INJURY, DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE arising out of Participants observation, assistance, and/or participation of any kind in volunteer work, including any bodily injury, death or property damage caused by the acts or omissions of owners, employees, agents, representatives and/or lessees of the Warriors Choice Foundation, Inc (collectively “releases”) or due to the actions or behaviors of the dogs, while in or upon 110 Front Street, Jupiter, FL (the “Premises”) , or while observing, assisting, and/or participating in any event off the Premises on behalf of the Warriors Choice Foundation, Inc. THE UNDERSIGNED recognizes and understands that there are inherent risk and dangers associated with observing, assisting and/or participating in Volunteer Work that could cause serious bodily injury, disability or death, including risks or dangers caused or created by acts or omissions of the Releasees and others. All the risks and dangers associated with observing, assisting and/or participating are assumed by THE UNDERSIGNED notwithstanding. In return for Participant being allowed to observe and/or participate in Volunteer Work, THE UNDERSIGNED hereby releases the Releasees from any and all claims, present and future, and agrees not to sue any Releasee for any present or future claims, that could be made by THE UNDERSIGNED, my family, estate, heirs, assigns, or any other person or entity on my behalf, or on the behalf of the Participant applying, for property damage, personal injury, or wrongful death arising out of Participant’s observing and/or participating in Volunteer Work including, without limitation, claims caused by the negligence of any of the Releasees, wherever and however the damage, injury or death may occur. THE UNDERSIGNED further agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees for any loss, liability, damages, cost or claims made by, or on behalf of, Participant for any claim of property damage, personal injury, or wrongful death arising as a result of Participant’s observing and/or participating in Volunteer work, including and cost defending or settling a claim made against Releasees (including without limitations, attorney’s fees.) Participant is voluntarily observing and/or participating in Volunteer Work with the knowledge of the danger involved, and THE UNDERSIGNED agrees to accept and assume all risk of observing and participating in Volunteer Work and all related activities. Neither the Warriors Choice Foundation, Inc nor any of the Releasees, has undertaken to determine whether Participant has any medical condition that can cause Participant to be unfit to observe and/or participate, and THE UNDERSIGNED acknowledges and agrees that neither the Warriors Choice Foundation, Inc., nor any Releasee has any duty to do so. THE UNDERSIGNED agrees that this Release and Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement extends to any and all of the acts of negligence by Releasee and is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the laws of the State of Florida. THE UNDERSIGNED agrees that any legal proceedings arising out of or relating to this Waiver and Release of Liability and Indemnity Agreement and/or Participant’s observing and/or participating in Volunteer Work will take place in Palm Beach County, Florida.
